Wow! It's September and I still haven't decided exactly what to do with my dining room table, etc... However I am still leaning towards Annie Sloan. Time goes by so quickly and we get caught up doing other projects around the house, of course there's also general upkeep - along with back to school.
Well, I've found a little table that I'm going to paint with Annie Sloan chalk paint - just to get a feel for the paint before I take on my dining room. Thinking about taking a class that's in October, but I'll see how I do on my own first. I've read enough blogs about people using AS, so maybe I'll do ok.
On another note, I'm attaching the link to my pinterest page. That website sure keeps filled with ideas and reminds me of my blessings. How many of you are addicted to pinning?

Dining room help
Ok, time for some dining rooms pics and I would love to get some feedback on ideas for the table/chairs and china cabinet.
This first picture shows a good view of the china cabinet. I bought this many years ago at a consignment store. I absolutely love it - however - I'm wondering if I shouldn't paint it. Up close you can see a couple little specs of green where it must have painted prior to me finding it.
Now in this picture you can really see how I painted the blue below the chair rail and the yellow above. The chair rail is something I added after buying the house. Regarding the dining room... I've considered painting the chairs and/or table as well. Also thought about just the table legs based on ideas I've seen online. I have purchased new fabric for the chairs that is Paris script fabric. (but we just got a new kitten, so I'm waiting on that for now)
Any thoughts or ideas regarding painting the furniture in this room? I do like that the dark table matches the new floor. However, there are so many possibities...
I took these pictures with my phone which is why the chandelier shows so bright. I'll have to start taking them with my camera.

Kitchen remodel.... finally
Here is a before picture.... I hated our kitchen for the 3 1/2 years we've lived here. However, it was bought as a foreclosure so we had many other things that needed to be done first. New roof, new carpet, new flooring, painted every wall and ceiling from the top floor to the bottom!
In the above picture you can see that I painted the walls in the kitchen a blue (it matches the bottom of the dining room wall. The top of the dining room wall is a yellow. In the new kitchen, I changed the wall colors to the yellow and it really made a difference!
Next up.... after pics
And the new floor in the same area....
This was before countertops had been installed, but it's a good picture of the new floor!
In my next post I'll show the dining room pics and ask for help in figuring out what to do with some problems I have with my dining room table and possibly painting an old china cabinet I have. I've been looking at some Annie Sloan Chalk Paint projects and have no idea how to even start. I have the desire to DIY, but not the knowledge. At least not yet!

The biggest difference is the island being removed and replaced with the cabinets on the right, which are between two windows. This really opened up the space. The island was really useless as it was about 10 inches deep and higher than countertop height. You can see the yellow carried over to the kitchen really helped brighten up the room, as well as the white cabinets of course! We also replaced the flooring in both rooms. Here is a picture of the old floor side by side.
